QUAD/ATV RIDING Experience a true adrenaline rush in nature! We offer 1- or 2-hour quad bike experiences, suitable for all adrenaline and exploration lovers. A ride can be a really nice gift or an active day out for the whole family. Suitable for both adults and children (12+). Maximum number of people: 5. 🚩 1-hour drive A short but varied adventure: a visit to a cheese factory, a ride on the Banjska plateau and enjoying the views. The route is varied – meadows, forest paths and rocky areas – and we adapt everything to your experience and wishes. Safety always comes first. 🚩 2-hour drive An extended experience where you can choose the direction: to Lokve, to Sveta Gora or to the Soča, or you can also do it by arrangement. The grassy area of the camp is fenced, and during the warmest months, planted trees offer pleasant shade. In the upper part of the campsite, there are three glamping cabins for two people. Nearby are sanitary facilities with toilets and showers, as well as a fully equipped outdoor kitchen for carefree holiday cooking. Guests have unlimited access to an outdoor barbecue, a spacious social area, and a children's playground. Next to these are a snack bar and a reception, where help and information are always available. A novelty from last year is a new camping area with a stunning view of the Julian Alps, featuring a self-sufficient glamping cabin for four to five people, surrounded by pitches for motorhomes or tents. Nearby is a parking area for cars, motorcycles, and bicycles. We are happy to welcome your pets in the camp. ACTIVITIES ON THE BANJŠICE PLATEAU As you ascend the steep and winding road to an altitude of over 600 meters, you can't help but be amazed. The Banjšice Plateau truly feels like a world of its own. The highest point of the plateau reaches 1,071 meters above sea level. This high karst plateau has no flowing water but is full of caves, sinkholes, and various karst phenomena. Along the beautiful and well-maintained road that winds between pastures and forests, you’ll spot cows and other animals lazily resting, enjoying the unspoiled nature. That's why many of the paths in Banjšice are part of the old war routes. The paths where soldiers fled when they retreated from the western edge of the plateau to its central part, which they barely defended, during the 11th Battle of the Isonzo. Dogodki, ki jih prirejamo/gostimo v DS Campingu Horseback Riding Camps Autumn Camp: October 27–30 (Monday–Thursday) During the week that the children spend with us, there is always a relaxed atmosphere for socializing, playing, learning, getting to know the horses, and riding! We start on Monday at 4:00 PM and finish on Thursday around 6:00 PM with a presentation for parents, where children will show what they have learned, experienced, and created. We’ll also share dinner together. All detailed information will be sent one week before the start of the camp. NEW! The children will sleep in heated glamping cabins! The camp is intended for children aged 6 and up. PROGRAM: Getting to know horses and their body language Daily horse care: grooming, feeding, cleaning stalls, taking them to pasture Learning how to lead a horse correctly One hour of riding every day NEW! FROM PROFESSIONAL HORSE RIDING COMPETITOR TO CAMP OWNER DS Camping is a boutique, small and intimate campsite – just big enough to make us all feel like one big family. Over the years we have made many friends with our guests and we want you to become a part of this community. Through everyday work, dedication and love for nature, we create a place where visitors feel at home. How did it all start? Dejan began his journey with horses at the age of six, when he got a three-year-old Lipizzaner. He and his grandfather Stanko would ride him while watching cowboy movies. His love for horses remained, and in high school he upgraded it with professional training and a sports career in endurance, eventing, and show jumping. 2016 dream -> reality Dejan fulfilled a long-standing childhood wish and set up a camp on the spot where military tents were set up during the war for Slovenia. Today, three glamping houses stand right there. Many wondered who would go to Banjšice, where “there is nothing”, but when we opened the camp, the whole village came to celebrate with us. We will remember this day forever. 2017 team expansion :) Sparks flew at the party and Aneja soon joined Dejan. Until that day, she only had a hamster at home, but she soon fell in love with horses. It started with cleaning the stable, caring for them, and later with riding. Her first horse, Nano, gently introduced her to the world of equestrianism. Together with Dejan, they began to co-create the camp's story. 2018/2019 plot After successful seasons of equestrian competitions, the moment of decision came: equestrian competitions or development of the camp. We decided on the camp - and so in 2018/2019 we completed a large part of today's story. 2020-2023 e-bikes, ATVs, yoga... Over time, we added e-bikes to our offer and in 2023, quads. However, horses remain the heart of our family and the core of our business. 2020 new family member Our daughter Zaja and dog Rory joined the team, who warmly completed our family and brought us even more good mood! 2023-2025 expanding the campsite and enriching the offer By expanding the upper campsite to the lower part, we have gained additional space for relaxation, and we have also expanded the range of experiences that will enrich your stay in Banjšice!
